Ethan's Story

My passion is business.
I developed a strong passion for business because a close family friend is a successful business person. We had many discussions about his business, which I found very interesting. I've also taken several business classes at my high school that I have enjoyed. This year, in my Advanced Algebra 2 class, I have seen the parallels of Algebra (Math) and Finance. I would like to go to UCONN and study Finance at the School of Business. My mother is a pharmaceutical representative and tells me about the marketing side of business. She works very hard and enjoys her job and talking about it with me. These conversations have impacted my decision to study business in college.

Attending Centenary Summer Scholars will expose me to the Business Field.

Ethan is a good candidate for Centenary Summer Scholars because it will allow him to explore not only a subject that he shows a great interest in, but will also give him an experience on a top notch academic college. He is definitely attending college after high school, and this program will afford him the opportunity to help him determine which type of college is appropriate for him. He will also get to study a topic of his interest.
