My passion is medicine.
My passion is medicine because I want to become a doctor and help kids who have cancer. I became interested in this career choice because when I was little we had career day at school, and I met my friend's father. He was a doctor and he told me that he saved a 4-year-old boy from dying with a brain tumor. So ever since that day I wanted to work in medicine, helping and saving lives.
Elizabeth is very willing to explore her passion for medicine. She has been attending a series of sports medicine and nutrition-themed field trips with me. She is CPR certified and generally speaking is willing to look for ways to learn more.
Elizabeth would do really well in NSLC Nursing because she is the perfect teenager for camp. She is personable, outgoing, willing to try new things and eager to learn. She will do very well in this program. Elizabeth will benefit because she will come back to school with even more enthusiasm for her studies.
This program is the best thing that ever happened to me. The NSLC changed me as a person, it made me open my eyes and see that I have a lot of opportunities in the nursing field. During those 9 days I learned so much at Yale University school of nursing. I met some incredible people in the program, and they changed my life in a good way. I will miss, and love all of my new friends that I made in this program. I had the best TA group (scrubs squad), I learned how to be myself with strangers, also opening up with people that I don't even know. In the nursing school we learned so much, like learning about taking vital signs, pediatric safety, mock code, and also the birthing simulation. Not only they help me with the nursing part of this program, they also help me to become a wonderful leader. It showed me how to be myself no matter what, be open with people, and stay true to myself. This program is a very life changed experiences and I will never forget it. I'm THANKFUL, for having this wonderful experiences. I wish I can do it again, but I'm going to be a senior. Thank you.
I'm going to be participating in the NSLC Nursing program, at Yale University this summer. I am really excited to be joining this program because it will let me have the time to learn about health and the medical field. While in my school, I'm in the Nursing academy and I feel like doing this program will help me gain experience. It will help me purpose my passion in my future career.
It was great meeting you at the Youth Forum! Best of luck!
With continued hard work, there will be many more accomplishments to come in your future. Best wishes,
Mrs. Lund
