Lilian's Story

My passion is nursing. Ever since I was a child, I've always wanted to do something to help someone. Nurses help doctors, patients, and their families. As a nurse, I could help a variety of people. My mother was originally the one to suggest that career for me, because she saw that I had the potential to help somebody in need. Over the years, I've developed my people skills and became more outgoing. I even started babysitting, and I put my all into taking care of the babies as if they were my own family. I found that I've enjoyed helping people and taking care of them. They say one should pick a job where they never have to work because it's not work if you enjoy it, and that's what nursing is to me.

At UConn Pre-College Summer Program, I'll be able to learn the official process first hand by watching or practicing it. Apart from movies and what I've read online, I don't know much about medical issues. This could be my chance to get some experience in the field, improve my knowledge, and do something hands on.

Lilian is dedicated and intelligent student. She works hard and has no trouble advocating for herself. She is caring and kind. Lilian is constantly assisting her fellow classmates almost to the point of nurturing them. She definitely has the potential for a career in the health occupations, and attending UConn Pre-College Summer Program would help her gain exposure to her future profession.

I Can't Believe I Made It!

I'm so excited to be going to the UConn Pre-College summer program. I'd like to thank everybody who supported me. I'm a little nervous, but I know this experience will be worth it. As the end of the school year closes in, I hope to live out this beautiful summer opportunity to the fullest.
