Jean's Story

My passion is Design.

I am passionate about design because when I went to a summer camp in California with my mother there had been an activity that I participated alongside my mother and what we did was make fancy outfits. My teachers and as well as my mother had shown me how to attach certain parts in order to make it look very beautiful. This had really gotten me very intrigued because I really did enjoy making something that could make all the other people become impressed. I’m currently working hard in engineering class, where we do design work like making Isometric shapes, oblique cabinet, oblique cavalier, etc. I am also taking part in ScriptEd where I get to practice and learn how to use codes in certain patterns in order to create a website which contains all necessary items like heading, text, photos, etc. This has made me realize that I really enjoy all parts of design and will put focus into the work being done.

Parsons Summer Intensive Studies: New York will help me find my passion of design and art in a way that it will open up my mind in the industry of designing and more focused on the area on fashion and interior design. I’d love to be able to create new trends that are either ideas from the past or are from something crazy that is just different that can be attractive to the human eye. What I would like to be able to do in this program is to learn a more broad view of this system and then to be able to create my own graphic designs and interior designs as well . I am greatly excited that Parsons has access to extensive studio facilities and professionally staffed models, fabrication, and print shops, including rapid prototyping, photography and imaging labs, metalworking, jewelry, and woodworking facilities. This will allow me to further explore my desire to make designs in different ways and improve my abilities.
