Melody's Story

My passions are medicine and technology.

Ever since I was young, I have loved helping people. As I grew up, my need for helping people continued to grow. I watched as my sister went to school to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, which has inspired me to follow in her footsteps. My sister has always had a big on my life, and she has inspired me to heal and cure others.

By attending iD Tech Camps, I'll be able to learn about how technology can help advance the medical field. I hope to gain skills in the field of technology that I can later apply to my medical practice and career.

A Note from Mr. Ta, Melody's Mentor

Melody recently participated in a field trip to experience an exhibit by Doctors Without Borders called "Forced From Home". Melody was highly engaged in the exhibit and had deep discussions with her peers and the staff/doctors walking the group through the exhibit. I believe the experience resonated with Melody because she seems even more fired up and motivated towards gaining medical field experience. There is a clear vision of what Melody sees for herself when it comes to a direction she would like to pursue for her career choice. Attending iD Tech Camps would help hone and focus Melody's personal vision and give her some solid experience in the field she feels she is called to be in.

Melody's experience at SFSU ID Tech

I enjoyed the ID Tech program so much. I was there for 5 days and I learned 3 different ways to code. The camp was tough for me the first day but I made sure to make the best of it because I knew many students did not have the opportunity to join the ID Tech Program. I am hoping to attend ID Tech program next summer as well. Thank you so much to everyone who made this come true for me.

Melody’s plan.

On July 15, 2018 my sister will take me to San Francisco. She will drop me off at my other oldest sisters house. Since my sister lives Infront of SFSU I will walk to Attend the ID tech program everyday from July 16-20th. hope to learn new things about coding as well as make new friends. I hope to continue sharing my journey with you all and thank you all very much for making this come true.
