My passion is leadership development.
Leadership is very important to me. I believe I have grown as a leader day by day in my life, but I don't believe that I have enough opportunities in my community to be able to expand my leadership skills. I do my best to take any leadership role available. I am currently Sophomore Class President and was School Site Council President and Class President my Freshman Year. I believe that I get re-voted every year into council because my peers see me as a leader. I always stay on task and have been very involved since my elementary school days. Although extremely busy taking 7 classes a day including Marching Band, I always manage my time, which I believe is a very big part of being a leader. I also see myself as a role model for others around me.
I have no doubt that Miguel possesses the interpersonal, academic and leadership skills to be successful in whatever he does. I know that his continued participation in the National Teen Leadership (NTLP) will greatly enhance his view of the world.
After graduating from high school, Miguel’s goal is to go to Harvard University. We have spoken extensively about the academic, personal, and emotional strength it takes to be accepted and graduate from such an institution. He listens to the advice that is given to him, asks questions, and looks for feedback on ways to improve himself personally and academically. I think that participating in the NTLP will help to better prepare him for the cultural shock that occurs when many poor, students of color attend higher education.
This past weekend was absolutely phenomenal! I can't thank every one of you enough for giving me the opportunity of attending the National Teen Leadership Program. I learned so much about being a better leader and the different ways of leading in this world. I discovered and learned so many things about myself that I did not know about. NTLP changed my life and now i'm ready to change lives in my community!
I want to take this time to thank every single one of you for your generous donation towards my attendance to the National Teen Leadership Program this summer. I know that I will greatly benefit from this leadership conference in many ways; I will grow as a person and learn to empower and change the world around me and bring back to my community.
I am very excited to spend a weekend at Chapman University learning and collaborating with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Your donation has made a difference in my life and I will make sure to keep you updated in my endeavor.
Leadership has been a very important aspect of my life. I have always sought for new ways to grow as a leader and strived to be a better person. I know this will help me reach my goals because a leader never stops learning. Attending the NTLP this summer will give me the tools to furthermore learn about myself and discover endless possibilities.
