Inspired by her parents, Alexandria has developed a love for music and writing. Her mom always finds extracurricular activities for her on the weekends, and her dad offers advice on how to improve both in and out of school. They’ve guided her towards some of her favorite activities: singing, acting, dancing, and writing. This year, she wants to improve her writing skills in Columbia University’s Introduction to Creative Writing course. When she gets older, Alexandria wants to write a book to help kids through their teenage years. Columbia’s Creative Writing class will challenge her to develop her writing in every way when she workshops with her instructor and her peers. She’s sure that this is the best opportunity for her to improve her writing over the summer.
Alexandria’s sponsor teacher says that aside from her incredible talent, her empathy will someday make her a great writer. In class, she sits next to a student with a severe learning disability and without being asked, Alexandria always helps him with anything he needs.
